Christian Education

The mission of the Christian Education Commission is to provide an environment that promotes spiritual development in both children and adults, following the example of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Christian Formation

Christian Formation at St. Peter’s supports the spiritual growth of children, youth, and adults through Scripture, tradition, and shared community life. Programs run September through May, with offerings for every age and stage of faith.

Sunday School

Sunday School meets at 10:00 AM and provides age‑appropriate Christian education where children and youth explore Bible stories, prayer, Episcopal tradition, and the seasons of the church year.

Age Groups

Preschool – Grade 1
Grades 2 – 4
Grades 5 – 7
Grades 8 – 12

Families may arrive a few minutes early, and one of our Sunday School leaders will help your child get settled into the appropriate classroom.

Youth Group

The New Kent Youth Group meets monthly for fellowship, Bible study, and shared activities with youth from St. Peter’s and Providence Forge Presbyterian Church. Friends are welcome.

Adult Formation

Adult Formation meets at 10:00 AM and offers weekly opportunities for learning, conversation, and reflection. The Adult Forum explores Scripture, theology, and topics related to Christian life and practice.

Celebrating Our Youth

Youth Sunday

Youth Sunday celebrates Sunday School participation and honors our graduating seniors. Children and youth take part in worship as we pray for them in their next steps.

Clopton Scholarship

Four $1,000 Clopton Scholarships are awarded each year to graduating seniors who demonstrate:

Strong academics
Extracurricular involvement
Church and community engagement
